My 19 year old non-vaccinated daughter has never had covid, although she has had multiple close contacts with covid positive people and lived in a campus dorm. She's an athlete who was tested 3x per week for 11 weeks (that's at a minimum 33 tests) during the fall semester. I find it amazing she did not at least have one false positive test. She did have a bad cold/flu virus in mid-February of 2020 (prior to testing, etc.), perhaps it was covid and provided some early immunity.

The covid vaccine isn’t intended to prevent you from getting covid. It’s works to keep you from dying of covid.


False. It was entirely intended to prevent infection. It just hasn’t been doing very well in that regard.

My son, 9, quarantined in a house with us when the rest of us had it in January. We gave up on masks and he never caught it. He was exposed again at a Sleepover with his best friend who was symptomatic and coughing - tested positive next day but somehow he still didn’t catch it.
We tested him a lot but who knows!

OK you lunatics. CDC says 58% of Americans have had COVID. That means 42% haven’t. That’s like 150 million people.

Might as well study people who haven’t been hit by lightning to see if they have some genetic predisposition to avoid lightning strikes.

I really wonder how much of it has to do with if and when one had the MMR vaccine. They were studying it early on then no news ever came of it. It would explain a lot.

She probably got it and just was asymptotic. If she’s a teacher she probably also has a good immune system. Probably destroyed it wearing masks for 2 years though so she’ll likely get it soon.

So interesting. My DH is like this and I have always wondered if he has some type of immune system dysfunction, though he hasn't been diagnosed with anything official. He suffers from idiopathic hives, chronic terrible canker sore outbreaks, and seems to get sick at the mere suggestion of illness despite being the fittest person I know. He gets PCR tested every time he goes onsite to work, so we are fairly certain he has not had covid in the past two years. Our son had covid a few months ago, was symptomatic, we took little precautions to separate from him (he's young), the rest of us tested positive within the week, DH never did. Only DS was ever symptomatic. DD had the flu last week, mostly fever, aches, and a little congestion, DH is basically deathly ill right now.

I’m so sorry he’s so sick right now! What he is better, I would have him tested for an immuglobulin deficiency. The one I’m thinking of in particular is called selective IGA deficiency. IGA is your first line of defense in your nostrils and gut against infections. Many people are low, but it’s more rare to have none. When you have none you’re very prone to infections, or more severe symptoms of illnesses. You are also prone to having more autoimmune diseases. It’s a simple blood test, most people find out when they’re testing for celiac.

I'm a pp who has not had it, I'm vaccinated as are my adult dc and parents and pretty much everyone I know. Aside from me and my dds', everyone I know has had it-thankfully mildly, so the vaccines helped for sure. I work with the public and did so before vaccines and didn't get it then either.

Interestingly, I don't get flu or colds either and I would wonder about that-this was before covid.

I think there are people who are immune to it and it would be worthwhile to study. I just don’t see how they can go about it.
