Disposable coffee cups typically have a plastic resin, or polyethylene, lining. Polyethylene is a petroleum-based plastic, requiring more than 231,000 barrels of oil to line our paper cups every single year.

Most drip coffee makers have plastic parts that sit in hot water, fyi. I don't know why, but even the $300 Technivorm.

One of the reasons I get my coffee at Panera instead of Starbucks. At Panera, I pay $8.99 per month and I go in with my reusable cup and can fill up as much as I want from any of the coffee or tea available. Serve yourself.

For the past month they’ve had a promotion where if you bring a reusable cup, you get 25 stars in the rewards program. 50 stars = a coffee or tea so for everyone two I’ve been buying, I’ve been getting one free.

Yes, brew coffee at home. Starbucks is gross.

BUT! I read recently that they're bringing it back as part of an effort to get greener.
Here's an article:

So they are brining it back... in 2 years? Why would this take so long?
