We have a Neso -- it does sometimes come down in a heavy wind. The primary attraction for me is packability -- I can pack it in my suitcase, which I can't do with a beach umbrella!

We love our Shibumi because it is lightweight, easy to put up and take down, and takes up minimal space in transport. Agree, however, that it does not function without a steady wind.

but i agree the good old umbrellas are the best along with a sand anchor but can be a pain if it doesn't come in two parts. I had mine for 10 year but it got rusty so i tried the neso tent and have been happy

That seems like it would fly away.
