Montgomery County pools have both group lessons and individual. For individual you need to actually go to the pool and they’ll have a book of instructors plenty of whom will take adults. Just talk to the front dedk

There is a place in NOVA called SwimBox, it’s one-on-one and they work with a lot of adults. I went to the Arlington location and had great experience.

I took adult classes many years ago at Cinquapin in Alexandria. Totally recommend.

I 2nd the private instructor route. I went with a private swim coach at the Y, but I had to join the Y, which to me was very expensive. I did this during COVID so couldn't find a group swim class. Once I was comfortable enough and could swim a bit, I joined a group beginner swim class at the DC recs.
