Yep. This is what Youngkin had to say about Aimee Guidera last year.
“She believes in charter schools, which is a big part of our agenda.”
Well, I might just be ready for charter schools. ACPS is a bona fide s#$T show, I'm ready for any and all options.
You would have to hope your kid lotteries into the charter school, because otherwise you’d still be stuck in ACPS except it would get even worse.
Anonymous wrote:If you look at the report, it cites concerning data regarding the performance of public schools, like how the Virginia Board of Education lowered SOL cut scores in 2019 and 2020.
But the reactions on this board opposed to the report don't tackle any of the data - they just say "Fake News!" and "I didn't vote for him so I won't believe any piece of data from that administration unless it fits my views!" Interesting how people on the far left and far right have so much in common.

And I’d bet my FCPS paycheck that OP is one of those parties interested in dismantling public education.
I bet you are one of those parents whose kids benefit from inflated grades. Maybe you have connections such that your nearly illiterate kid will still have a steady income no matter their life choices. But the rest of the 98% of income earners need their kid to actually learn enough to be competetive in the workplace.
DP. My kids have learned plenty in their APS schools. I have no concerns about their level of education.

I hear you, but then FCPS is run by people who spent years talking only about equity and disparaging tests and rankings, only to trot out the 2022 US News rankings of Virginia high schools (which were based on data from years ago) once they thought it would help counter the charter school advocates. Rather hard to discern who is trustworthy.
