42 comments on the owner's Facebook post about putting her house on the market and not a singler one of her "friends" has the guts to say, "are you out of your ever-loving mind?" Seriously, I have seen many delusional sellers in this market, but this is outrageous. I hope it backfires.

Neighborhood is super expensive. Some of the most expensive homes there other than Turkey Run area.

Lots of homes 5-10 million around there.

However this is way too expensive. Maybe should sell for 2.5-3.

House is tiny. Lot is tiny.

It is way too small to tear down and build 10k sqft home. So I don’t think it would be attractive for a builder.

The house is not tiny, nor is the lot. It's not a huge lot but 1/3 of an acre isn't tiny. Additionally, the homes on that street all have similar sized lots between 1/3-1/2 acre. All that aside, these sellers are delusional.

But then you would have to live in DC

With all the other smarter, more well off people? That would be crazy.

This house is surrounded by $8 million homes and around the corner from Hickory Hill. It’s the perfect neighborhood in an a fantastic location. Small enough that I could afford to furnish it and pay the utilities. It’s a dream. But way overpriced.

Out in the sticks.

Son, there is nothing inherently superior to living inside the city limits. I’m so sorry you’re so insecure that this is a point of contention for you.

This is a weird listing because usually when a house is wildly overpriced, there’s something objectionable enough about the house (bizarre front elevation, terrible finishes) to make you realize the sellers are nuts and not in touch with reality. Whereas this house is perfectly tasteful and lovely—just 2 million overpriced!

Just far enough out to create some space from losers like you.

It's 4200 sq feet. That's not tiny but it definitely presents as more cottage than mansion. Darling house.

I think the sellers know there's a small supply of older homes in that part of McLean that aren't teardowns and hoping that there's enough demand to command that price. Otherwise, for that amount of money, you're typically getting a newer house with 3X or 4X that amount of space.

I'm skeptical they'll pull it off, but we'll see.

Possibly. In my deep dive into the house, I learned there are several people in the neighborhood from the same family. They’ve been there a long time.

I have to get better at this attraction/manifest thing. I only got half my wish - it’s for sale. Lol
