I know. Reading DCUM, sometimes you wonder how these people manage to function.

If you shop around you can usually find blueberries and strawberries for a "reasonable" price.

Don't. They need to be dry, and if they're slightly dirty, it doesn't matter at all. Adding moisture days before you eat them isn't going to help with texture, taste or mold development.
Wash berries right before eating.

Of course, if a kid NEEDS a banana for a snack, I’m not going to say no, the kiwis need to be eaten first. But generally I try to serve it in this order.

With all the highly educated people in this area, I'm surprised by the lack of common sense.
Me too. This is all ridiculous.
Like I said, it’s not rocket science. But I like berries and I wanted to eat a few every day. But that wasn’t happening. I was eating half and then the rest would have gone bad by that time. So now, I eat all the berries I buy. I always knew what the solution was, but I was fighting it. Now I’ve given in and all is well. I look forward to grocery day because I get to gorge on berries.
It doesn’t ever take you a little while to make the right choice for you? People make bad choices all the time about things far more important than berries, when they should know better.
Anyway, I thought I would share and it sounds like it helped at least one person upthread.
