OP here. The delegation is from Mexico, our building is insanely cold, and I will be wearing a full suit. My work wardrobe is sort of disjointed and if I don’t wear hose I think the only shoes that work are flats, which is sort of why I was leaning towards hose, but now I’m thinking it’s way over the top, especially in my workplace. I have black hose but my legs are my best asset and are a beautiful color.

I do if I am wearing a full dress/skirt suit or other business formal equivalent, but otherwise probably wouldn't unless it was winter when I wear tights. I think it looks more polished when dressed up in true suiting. I'm 36, work in finance, and have pretty white legs.

Of course you can buy quality hose, OP, but you might not find some in time for tomorrow. It has to be very low denier and barely, if at all, noticeable. Buy two pairs in case you rip one of them with your nails or dry ends of fingers - if you're not used to it, that can happen easily.

The entire point of hose is to be invisible and smooth out your legs to make them visually better-looking. Some people use make-up or self-tanner instead. Some people are careful to shave and moisturize and don't have visible veins or skin splotches, so don't get the need for hose.

If the skin on your legs looks good, you might not need hose or anything else on your legs. I come from a family of people who have needed surgery for deep varicose veins, with sensitive, blotchy skin and poor circulation. Our legs don't look great. I've always had hose in my drawer, and I'm 42!

Love the women’s winter post above. Honestly, all I could think about in reading this thread was that usually the hotter it is outside, the colder it is inside an office. But, it’s been so long, many of us have forgotten that.

Depends on the legs. If you're pasty white and/or have varicose veins, either use self tanner or wear super sheer panty hose. Especially if you're wearing black pumps. Any department store sells them.

The only people who care (or notice) will be the super young, judgmental women. And they will also notice the pasty white and/or varicose. No win with them regardless.

I think if you have white pasty legs, then yeah, were some very light sheer colored nude hose that will hide the blinding white or get self tanner.

This post really took me back to the Before Times and I thank you for it.

Im 55 and have not worn them since early 2000s for any occasion including fancy weddings - I do use a little self tanner though.....

I like them for work on occasion, and feel more professional wearing them. Get the kind that are invisible but make your legs feel good. For me they’re almost like compression leggings at the gym when modifying weights and my legs don’t get so tired on long days in heels.
