Meeting him at his bank with his check, cashing check right after he hands it to me and only then will I sign title and car over to him.
Check can still bounce. You know it doesn't clear instantly, right?

I asked him how he plans on paying me and he said a personal check. I said fine, your bank is actually down the street from me and we can meet there prior to me signing over title and giving you the car. Buyer said no problem. I figured what could go wrong? We meet at bank, he hands me the check, I cash the check and voila. My husband thinks this is a bad idea.
If you guys are literally at his bank, why doesn’t he just get out cash?
Because he’s a shady typical car salesman. He has been asking me for the most outlandish demands! First the personal check, now leave the sale amount blank on title, and then deliver it, which is a 4 hr round trip. Finally can I gift gift it to him? I thought gifting was only allowed between family members. My family name is Smith and his is Abulatkishshalimkubar.

Omg wtf is wrong with people. When I said no again he asked me to deliver the car, which is a 4 hr round trip. I said no again. My husband was right. Selling a car and dealing with the people who obviously are in the used car business is a nightmare. No wonder carvana and carmax are doing great.
