My kids had hot cocoa as an after school snack for years in the winter. They make it with milk, Hershey cocoa and sugar. Not a perfect snack but better than many (from the milk)

Are ovaltine and nestle quick still around?

I have the huge canister of Quik and two jumbo bottles of Hershey syrup. I love chocolate milk. If I run out I buy Borden's. It tastes like a melted fudgesicle.
Guess what I do when I drink coffee ? Use Swiss Miss as creamer. I call it cocoa coffee. I only drink that in the winter.
I'm 62. At this point it's a miracle I'm still alive. I say drink chocolate milk and be happy ! Too much crunchy Mom isn't good either.
side note here, the Hershey strawberry syrup is good too.

Just a nickel-sized drop of Hersey's syrup plus no fat milk makes a great chocolate milk or hot chocolate.

Trader Joe’s whole milk chocolate milk is delicious; I haven’t checked the sugar though.

Sometimes I just like plain old cocoa powder in milk with no sugar, but it’s hard to stir in. If i had a frother I bet it would be easier.
