PP is correct that nowadays Alice and June and Pearl and Maude are much more fashionable than Alyssa and Alicia.

However, they are incorrect about 80s music, which slaps.

Yes, that's the point. People having kids now are looking to the 1900-40s for inspiration. They're not naming kids Alyssa any more than they're naming them Karen. PPP is clearly of an age where Alicia/Alyssa sounded "fresh" or nicer than plain ol' Alice, but that line of thinking is outdated.

I'll let you have whatever thoughts you need to about the music of the 80s.
