27 Capital will be different than year's past mainly because BLC has 11-13 girls who would likely make it if they tryout. Very different dynamic than in year's past.

Katie just hired a full time recruiting director I am assuming to try to stem the tidal wave of girls jumping to Capital. Not certain if it will help. That being said she I assume she will have 3 26 teams next year so from a monetary point of view things are good.

‘23 Blue players attended a wide range: SSAS, Riverside, Visi, Sidwell, Stonebridge, Freedom, St. John’s, Holton, BCC, West Springfield, Walter Johnson, Bishop Ireton, O’Connell, SR, STAB. The school has no bearing on a player’s selection to Capital.
Lol that this starts out with “…the high school does not matter.” Then proceeds to list private after private. School clearly matters … oh and $$$$.

Anonymous wrote:How much of the reverse is true -- kids who excel on their middle school clubs become more likely to choose a private school where they can work to their full potential. Say what nice words you want about public vs. private but the top private programs (for girls: Saints, Visi, SR) are light years ahead of the average private program and the next tier or two of private programs are well ahead of all but the top publics. This is likely to continue to be true for quite some time in the close-in DMV.
If your or your child's goal is to get to and play at a top school, the path is playing at a top high school program alongside the club. Not just for the lacrosse but also for the education, college counseling, etc. I know very few parents who have the resources to make that happen that choose public school and several who are stretching to make it a reality for their daughters.
