I like them both. Pick the one that sounds best with your last name.

I'm partial to Genevieve (nn Evie) because it was both of my grandmothers' names. I had 3 boys, though, and couldn't use it.

Yvette is an old lady name, people like old lady names because they sound newer but really they’re just old. Genevieve has always been around and all its many derivatives and nicknames like Gena, Genni, Jenny, Jenna, etc

Genevieve is super popular. My cousin’s 2yo has the name and my DHs cousin’s 1.5yo has the name. One in NY one in RI.

I love Yvette. Reminds me of Yvette Mimieux. Genevieve is fine but much more common.

Genevieve gets my vote. Yvette sounds like an old lady name.

Totally depends on your last name. Those are both nice names but the sounds in the surname can make a big difference in what suits.

I agree! Old names are good when they are classic and timeless. Yvette sounds old but not in a good way.

Genevieve. There are 3 of them out of 60 kids in my son’s grade (1st) but I still think it’s a beautiful name w a lot of nice nickname choices (Vivi, Evie, Eve, Gigi, Ginny)
