If more people spoke up about this ridiculousness, it would get more press. Sign up to speak at the Board meeting, flood the boe members’ emails with questions/comments, etc….media isn’t going to react to a few comments on Twitter

I'm surprised this isn't getting more traction in the news. Maybe they are working on the story today.

In other words, they cut many teacher jobs so that they could add a few admin jobs. Just another way to make central office more bloated.

Pay attention to who’s getting the top jobs — it’s not those who are most qualified, that’s for sure.

I hope the Board of Ed stops this insanity. Students need smaller class sizes not bigger Central Office.

And how exactly is a “special education liaison” supposed to help students access services?

Perhaps forget a liaison but hire more school psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists, and speech therapists instead. Perhaps do comprehensive evaluation for students instead of forcing families to pay for private evaluations so disabilities are identified. Perhaps do a gut check on how the General Counsel’s Office and RACU treats families. Perhaps curb the millions of tax dollars spent on outside attorneys to fight students who need services.

Students have been the losers in MCPS for the past decade. Poor leadership, an overly large school district and corruption have all combined to result in a rapid decline.
