Assuming you’re on the K waitlist, I think you have a good shot at ATS! Remember that the waitlist stays this way for the whole year, so you’ll have until the spring of 2023 to get called!

we were about 25 at Claremont for our first kid and got in by end of May. They reduced the number of classes this year but I suspect you’ll get in.

We were in the 30s for Claremont last year, so only 4 K classes, and were still in the teens in August.

Congrats! Did you get an email or text?

I'm a NP and we got both. Text was slightly faster than email. We are a sibling acceptance though, since we have an older child there too.
we got both too

From the past, I seem to remember it being in the afternoon? Maybe like 2-3pm.

APS is preparing the bunker. Then the results hit.

When my older one was getting in, I think it was released the middle of the week? So it's not always on Fridays

Anonymous wrote:Why did APS stage the lottery selection on Teams last week??? As a new APS parent, I assumed we'd actually get to see the results, not just an awkward video of people pushing buttons on a screen. It was just baffling.

I am not sure of the history here, but I think there was a lot of "omg it's a scandal!" when they held it privately. So now they do it publicly, but since all students are assigned a random number, it still is not quite "scandal" proof. Since numbers can be assigned with preference and/or switched around afterwards.

I agree it makes no sense, so I don't pay attention to it AT ALL. I also think it's mostly people who are vying to get into HB that dream up all the conspiracy theories.

Generally speaking though, there are basically separate pools of Spanish-dominant and English-dominant students to attempt to achieve 50/50 balance between kids who speak each language at home.

To be clear it’s still a lottery for 2nd grade and up, but only kids with a Spanish background are eligible for lottery.

There are separate lotteries for English and Spanish speakers for k and 1
