I personally would choose W&M, its a quaint town and close to home yet far away enough.

Michigan is too far and likely too cold & grey. That will be too much of a change for anyone from DC. (Hello, thats why Sasha Obama left Michigan)

In terms of education/career prospects, I doubt there is much difference, so it should be a matter of cost + preference.

Michigan - cold climate, huge Big 10 school. Powerhouse football + basketball. Ann Arbor is (or at least used to be) a nice town though.

W&M. Small, LAC-like public. Wiliamsburg is pretty sleepy,

Northeastern. In probably the greatest city for a student in America. Plus the internship experience. More of an urban campus.

Lafayette. SLAC, but a really good one. It looks roughly equidistant between Philly and NYC.

Only you and your DD know which setting is the best fit and which the best value. No one here can help you.

Congratulations to your daughter OP but those prices made me feel faint. Has she had a chance to visit any of the schools?

The list of schools are actually not that different in terms of job perspective or graduate school. So I would go for the one that costs you the least. If you are concerned about ranking and reputation, they are honestly in the same group, so don’t worry too much. Maybe the deciding factor would be how close or how far? Dorm and food?

first, congrats to your DD!

these are all and I mean all pretty different. has she visited? what did she like / dislike about each. I’d have picked Lafayette (or W&M) and my kid would probably pick Michigan, we prefer different college environments.
