Hilarous! Ok band mom. I know many nice "unpopular" girls at Yorktown who do not toot a flute.
Band kids are usually geeks. Barely a block above the drama kids on the pecking order.

Any ideas why Swanson has so many problems now? Something about DHMS boundaries?
The problem Kid at Swanson was at ashlawn. Nothing to do with hamm boundaries.
Anonymous wrote:This could be me asking the very same question. Ninth grader has experienced awful bullying in private and is moving to either WL or Yorktown. What do people recommend to help kids transition into either of the schools?

Wow. The only nice girls in the school are in the band? Seriously?
The really sad thing is when the mean girl is a coach.

Can you provide an example?
Anonymous wrote:Yorktown popular girls seem to care a lot about athletics and being well off enough to buy Lululemon and other high-status clothes. Some can be mean, but usually within their own circles. But YHS has plenty of quirky kids who have their own activities and friends. If you want to avoid the big school experience, you can also apply for HB Woodlawn and/or Arlington Tech lotteries, which are both more inclusive than the big high schools.
