Yeah, our PTO is not doing anything for Teacher appreciation week. Maybe something will come together last minute, but since no one volunteered to lead and fundraising is way down, I don’t think there is much interest among the parents. Hopefully individual classrooms will remember.

Our school asks teachers to fill out a form for a Panera boxed lunch. We pick it up during our lunch break so there's no waiting in line. We don't get much time for lunch so it works well.

Another teacher who would vote no on the food truck. Honestly, I’ve got crazy ninja skills when it comes to taking advantage of free food at work, but every time my school has done a food truck, I haven’t gotten anything from it. It’s been free but it is just too time consuming. I like the pre-ordered lunch. Or potluck parent-made desserts in the staff lounge. Or coffee and donuts set up BEFORE school. My school often had coffee and donuts one day during the week, but it always gets set up about 10 minutes before the students arrive, so does me no good. To be clear, I’m grateful for any gift, but if you’re going to the bother, you might as well make it something that will be enjoyed.

Not at my school, if anything I feel there has been more this year. My school is not wealthy but not Title I FWIW

That happened once at our school and we didn’t know ahead of time. We were told a food truck had been arranged and we could preorder to speed up pick up. At pick up, teachers were charged the regular price. It was embarrassing because many ran down down without wallets so anyone with a credit card was covering many without. At least clearly tell the teachers if they need to pay and if the food truck coming itself is the treat.

Just curious, but why? I’m a parent and I certainly don’t roll my eyes at the idea. They work very hard for little respect and little pay. I’m glad there are people who are willing to pick teaching in spite of their conditions. Our children benefit.

It’s a valid question as many food trucks require 1000 minimum to come to your event and that blows most teacher appreciation budget out of the water

Agree w the posters above, but something like Captain Cookie might work for dessert because it is fast. I would only say it works for a small footprint school where teachers dont have to walk a long way/eat up time to get the cookie.

Bring in sandwiches, pizza or other meals as they don't have time to wait for the food truck to cook. And, generally a food truck is a lot more money.
