We expected no freebies. We reused everything from our first child and purchased anything else we needed ourselves. I was responding to the apparent tone/attitude that only the first child matters to some people. I find that abhorrent and sad.

Hooded towel with baby name or monogram, large enough to still fit one toddlerhood rolls around. Often the existing one(s) are kinda ratty by the time the new baby comes. And lots of pix get taken of first bath and other water cuteness.

I have two DDs, and I love this idea.
Our girls are 4 years apart. Our second was born just after the pandemic started, so we were pretty locked down. Several friends sent us a cute stuffy, a big sister superhero cape and shirt for older DD, a few new board books, and some home delivery meals. We didn’t need anything since we had saved all of older DD’s baby items, but it was nice for younger DD to have a few things that are just hers!

A gift card for meal delivery. I also commiserate with the suggestion for a monogrammed blanket or similar because we probably got 3 of those for #1 and none for #2. However, as it turns out #1's favorite blankets are none of the monogrammed ones, so I probably just need to pass those on before #2 learns to read their names.
