Op here; leave it to DCUM! I was excited to see the number of responses thinking I was getting recommendations. We have talked to several doctors over the last two years, as well as our insurance company and her pediatrician. Believe me, it’s medically necessary and will be covered. I wasn’t trying to get into that here. Thank you for those who provided recommendations. We actually went to children’s and liked the doctor - but experienced exactly what PP described. Billing department gave me nonsense estimates, couldn’t coordinate with insurance competently, and repeatedly did not call me back. This will be DD’s first hospital experience ever and I didn’t want to deal with logistical issues, it made me lose faith in the medical care.

Anyone saying overly large breasts are not a medical condition, does not have overly large breasts.

I (finally) had a breast reduction at 48 and it's the single best thing I've ever done for myself. Better posture, no more daily back pain, no groove marks in my shoulders, and yes, clothing fits and looks better, and I can buy bras in a regular store, that are actually cute!

My insurance covered it, and I will fully support my DD if she want to pursue the same path when she turns 18.

If the insurance doesn't cover it you can travel to Colombia and get them done for a fraction of the US price, they do beautiful boob jobs there!

My aunt got breast reduction and a breast lift.

My cousin got breast reduction. Both to C cups.

I don't have big boobs but if they were HUGE I would get them done too. Good OP for being proactive!

I am same size and life isn’t that difficult. Do I have to shop around for bathing suits, yes. Do I have to wear a more expensive heavy duty sports bra, yes. Do I need to stretch and take care of myself so my back doesn’t ache, yes. Would I go through a reduction, no.

I have not had breast surgery, but when I was seeking diastasis recti repair I mentioned the Dr I was considering to my OB and she was effusive regarding his skills and said they refer all their breast reconstruction to him. Dr Samir Rao at CPS. I also valued the office felt medically focused and like a real Dr office not purely cosmetic with half naked bodies all over the walls. My surgery experience was excellent.

That is not medically required surgery. No health insurance will cover that. It's a cosmatic surgury.

It would be more helpful if you can tell us why it's not true.

Two of my relatives had this surgery covered because of serious back issues. It was life changongm

The back issues need to be the reason, OPs complaints are all cosmetic.

What she wrote here is mostly cosmetic. That doesn’t mean it’s the entire story.
