Neurologist thinks it’s the spontaneous type but I’m sure we will send his brain for autopsy to confirm. I’m his step-daughter but it’s of course something we’d want to know for his descendants. His disease presentation fits spontaneous type though, which just kind of sucks in its own way because it’s just…why him? (Why ANYBODY!)


OP I want to say I’m so sorry as I know the pain. I have had a family member diagnosed with this disease last week. Like your stepfather, one day they were fine and the next they have lost most cognitive and physical abilities. I’d never heard of this disease until now.
