Neurologist thinks it’s the spontaneous type but I’m sure we will send his brain for autopsy to confirm. I’m his step-daughter but it’s of course something we’d want to know for his descendants. The contaminated meat angle - hard to say as no one really knows how long it can stay dormant. His disease presentation fits spontaneous type though, which just kind of sucks in its own way because it’s just…why him? (Why ANYBODY!)
