I didn't put any effort in. I thought a guy was cute but my roommate had already said she was interested in him. It took quite some time for him to convince her that he wasn't interested back, because he kept hanging around, interested in me. But I wasn't paying attention. I didn't flirt at all. We were neighbors and otherwise in very different social circles.. I was focused on my education and health at the time, plus I had a lot of friend stuff going on then too.

DP. Getting dolled up vs "attracting" are different. It is more fun than discussing the latest Nats game for right-brained women. Men are attracted to what's attainable. Zilch. Met my husband of 23 years at a 10k race, had no make up, hair in a ponytail and was sweaty and gross. While we were in the initial stages of dating, I would dress nicely, shave, etc. Never wear makeup so that was not an issue.

Do you wait around for a guy to show interest in you? If you mean, see if we make eye contact in a restaurant or bar, sure. If you mean pine after someone in a college class yearning for interest to be shown, no.
Do you make a move if a guy appeals to you? Yes, I might. I'd like some eye contact, but not opposed to approaching as the woman once that was established. I've cold approached men as well. They actually often appreciate it!
