Why not go home and finish working from there since work at home is an option? Who knows how many more people you will expose over the course of the day. I work from home with a cold just because why expose people. It is not like I could not get in but it is better for all not to.

How late does he need to put to not get it?

Did she test positive mid-day? If not, I don’t understand this situation at all. The spouse and kids should be at home but not near the mom.

For what? To get home faster and get Covid?

You need to isolate, yes? Do you need him home to cover the childcare so you can do that?

Depends on the age of the kids and how sick you are. Also if going into the office is optional and he could do everything just as easily wfh, I would want him to do so.

Personally, I would head home out of courtesy for my coworkers.

Most sensible to be courteous. Thank you.

How silly. You would have already exposed them all. We really need to stop doing covid-related things just because they feel good.

Great, thanks for advocating exposing everyone.

Wonderful family you are.

From a covid exposure standpoint: no. If you have covid, but your kids/spouse have no symptoms they can move along with life. Testing would be the smart and responsible thing to do though.

From a life standpoint: depends. If your kids are old enough to sit in from the tv while you are resting, then no reason for the spouse to come home. If you need help caring for the kids, then yes of course.

Mine would. How old are the kids?

I’m a SAHM and if we weren’t attempting to isolate, I wouldn’t expect him to take a sick day unless I asked him to. Which I would do in a heartbeat if I needed it. He can’t tell how sick you are unless you tell him.
