I would not worry about some comment posted on this site and believe it to be truth. Better yet, you can volunteer for a PTA board position.
Well I'm worried about it. Can the OP of that comment come in and tell us what they're talking about.
Calm down. Maybe it's a non Christian church. I doubt an FCPS school would allow the PTA to teach anything. Your child isn't going to be converted.
I'm calm, but someone made a comment and should explain it. We're looking at houses zoned for the school and if there's a PTA scandal or some sort of contention, calling the school isn't going to give me the info I need.

Anonymous wrote:Funny. We are zoned for VES but have sent our kids to private starting K (so it’s not because we don’t like VES in particular, just FCPS in general). You can have our spot!
Anonymous wrote:we bought a house in 2019 and thought cunningham was gonna be fine even though it had a low ranking (I went to FCPS rated even lower in Springfield VA and still was able to make something of myself). now the wifey is having second thoughts wanting to send the kids to vienna elementary. What do parents that actually send their kids to cunningham think?
if we have to, how do we get about sending the kids to vienna elementary even though we are not zoned for it, literarily across the street is vienna and our side is cunningham so there are no commute issues.

Agree with PP. How much better for Vienna be?
One difference is there are about 3x more student of need at CPES compared to VES. That may be a big deal for some families.
Also CPES has a church that pretty much serves as the PTA. Nice but can’t compare to a school where there an active, parent run PTA.
