I don't either. I find it objectively unattractive on most bodies - in the same way the horizontal stripes trick the eye, so does cheeky briefs. DH and i live on a quiet beach and walk all the folks walk by in their myriad suits, and we were discussing the trend. There were late teens and 20-something women with run of the mill bodies wearing them, and DH thought they looked pretty unflattering.

All that said, agree no one in miami will remotely notice what you're wearing, so might as well do what you want to do!

I find thongs pretty unflattering in that they can elongate the butt and are like high waisted jeans, but I like the bottoms that cut straight across but show a little extra cheek. I'm very fit, fairly thin, and don't have any cellulite, but I have a bit of a F(lat)ass that does not seem to improve with weight lifting and squats. A normal bikini bottom (even fuller coverage in some respects) but that let's the cheek hang out a bit on the bottom kind of gives the illusion of having more of a butt.

I have heard so many women say they don’t have any cellulite but that’s because they don’t see themselves walk, bend, lift kids, move. Almost every woman has some cellulite, especially if they are 30+. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The few times I've seen women wearing those, they have huge saggy butts, they're not slender, and it looks trashy and desperate. No dignity.

Just got back from SW Florida and saw lots of cheeky bath suits. The problem is, if you're going to sit on your butt for long periods of time, you're going to have those red marks when you get up and it is really not flattering.

Me too. In fact, I have a butt similar to the photo (pre airbrushing - I do have pores) and periodically see women with butts like that. No matter how much the butts look like that, the cheeky bottoms don’t look like that picture, because real humans walk, bend and sit, and within two seconds, the cheeky bottom is no longer sitting daintily along the two cheeks like the photo, but is pulling up the ass crack, or sitting assymmetrically, or otherwise moving into some less cute location where the wearer has to spend much time picking it out. That said, no body shaming and if you want to do it, go for it.

I live near a very popular beach and the asses I see are not any asses I would choose to see with the occasional exception.
