I fill one of my mixing bowls with warm/hot water and dish soap - dump in a dish towel, wring it out and clean my counters nightly.
Do you prepare food directly on your countertop? I sure don’t.
Why yes, I do. I have granite countertops and can cut on them, put hot things on them - they're great. I sure don't want 409 or some other sprayed chemical going into my food. Any food surface should be clean, no matter if you put food directly on it or not. Your hands touch the chemical counter and then touch the food.

Are you under the impression there are no chemicals in dish soap?
Do you wash your dishes with 409 or Lysol? If you do, knock yourself out spraying it on counters.
What a stupid comment.
