Good. Make them citizens ASAP. With the low birth rates we are going to eventually be crushed by China.
But it does make a great outrage dog whistle for conservatives and Magatrash. Always works like a charm. These people think American history goes back about 37 years.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So first Texas threatened to send undocumented immigrants to DC on busses.

As of this morning according to the local New the undisclosed number of busses are heading to DC with the immigrants.
What next? I realize that there is a reality that has only been marginally impacting us, but how is DC going to address this or even absorb hundreds of undocumented workers?is this transparent to city resources. As most will be Latino do existing groups have the capacity to receive these workers, house them, explain the immigration process and work with them throughout their next year of legal appointments?
Texas indicates this is only the beginning. How many can DC welcome?
Surprise!!!
Elections have consequences, OP. You're getting what you voted for.
Not really, no. Immigration issues in that area predate all our recent Presidents, since it's fundamentally a economic imbalance problem. Remember Mexicans stealing parts of Trump's wall for their own homes? That was pretty embarrassing. Mexico-US migration has always been fraught.

Maybe, but with Biden allowing this provision to expire, it's about to get much worse.

They will go wherever they were planning to go - probably to stay with family or try to find work. We have local nonprofits who can help. Others will just continue on to where they were going including back to Texas if that was their plan. The buses are just a silly stunt.
I would also point out that the term “illegal immigrant” is totally inappropriate here. It’s a lie by Republicans. They’re talking about people who presented at the border and applied for asylum. That’s not illegal! They’re not even “undocumented.”
