+1. Stop pushing that narrative. It is false and completely unfair of the kids that knew her at ACHS. Plus (as a former BI parent) there is a much higher probability she would be bullied at BI.

Hutchings can and should be judged outside of his school choice for his daughter. I think the debunking of the items in the second post in this thread suggest Hutchings has done little to nothing to improve ACPS meaningfully.

My ES kiddo gets bullied for his disability. My kid has to do a restorative circle, explain his situation and feelings to the bully, and ask the bully to be nice. Way to add insult to injury. Upper ES kids know right from wrong. At this point, mean kids will not have some epiphany about the importance of being kind.

Work with the school administrators, of course, yet remain realistic and understand that you may need to remove your child from the environment of the bullies. Your child's physical and mental safety needs to be your paramount concern.

Not everyone can afford to send their kids to private school. Moving is not an option for many without resources either.

Why was his kid being bullied? Because the other kids are a-holes.

So, if my kid is being bullied, I should trust Hutchings to handle it?

Hutchings has increased the use of meaningless catch phrases.

Equity for All
Virtual Plus+
We’re on an antiracist journey

Or because ACPS’s administration stinks. That was the reason my child continued to be bullied within ACPS.

Sad but true

We are out after our last year at LCTA

Same. No issue with LCTA but vote no confidence in the rest of ACPS. Quite of a few of my kid's classmates/friends went private last year.

We saw the total sh!tshow that 2020 was and decided to homeschool. No regrets.

+1

Clearly Hutchings saw it too and put his own kid in private. After all, he did say at a school board meeting that she was getting terrible grades.

Based on assessments, LCTA is the only decent ES in ACPS. Even their post covid numbers are at a level the other schools can only dream of in normal times.

Sadly, my guess is the moment the principal retires the curriculum will be scrapped and it will be low performing just like all the others.
