Mine would be so offended that they need a babysitter!!! For ONE night. If something bad happens they can call a neighbor or in an emergency 911.

The 15 year old IS NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE.

What an idiot.

Plus one. People are so quick to be jerks on anonymous websites. Even if they are the ones out of line.

This is what I would pay, but it depends on the duration. Is he staying for 12 hours to simply cover the sleeping or 24-36 hours to always be available while you are gone? 150-200

Agree

Yes this is nice if affordable to you. I am wondering if you have a sense of whether this kid enjoys his cousins, happy to do free laundry at your house, and get away from roommates...or if this is a huge ask.

We’re you left to your own devices at the party or did your cousin give you alcohol? Did you get drunk?

This really shows that the brain is not fully developed until a certain age and even very responsible-seeming young people can make very dumb or even reckless choices.

People of ALL ages make very dumb and reckless choices.

I wasn’t ever left alone. It was my cousin who offered me the drinks and no, I didn’t get drunk. I was mostly there like a deer in headlights thinking - wow! I’m at a college party!

The godson is 21 not her kids. And OP has three kids.

Why are you clarifying that? I understand that. I think there’s a pretty decent risk that a 21-year-old and a 15-year-old are gonna throw a party.

And invite who? 21 year olds don’t want to party with 15 year olds. And the 11 year old would immediately call mom. They’re not going to throw a party.

Biggest party of my high school years was thrown by a fourteen year old freshman whose parents were out of town and being babysat by a college student. La Casa Fiesta, in case about NCS/STA folks from the late eighties are reading this....

$200 or $250, plus make sure you have a full tank of gas, make sure one of the kids has your Uber eats/Door Dash loaded and can charge a good dinner.

I misunderstood; I thought you were saying OP's kids were okay to stay by themselves and only needed a neighbor to keep an ear out. I agree it is a good ideas to let the neighbors know you are out.
