I have this really gross, long-held curiosity about the modern vampire story, and I've seen/read them all: vampires can hang around with human as long as they don't smell blood, right? When they DO smell blood, they risk losing control. So, recalling a couple of appalling embarssing period incidents (mine and other girls') how is it that menstruating classmates don't drive the vampires crazy every time they have a tampon snafu?
There were a few episodes where I wanted to smack Elena for being annoying and damsel-in-distress-y.
FWIW, I used to watch all the silly shows back when it was the WB. I like to think of this show as Dawson's Creek with vampires. It is a Kevin Williams show, so it makes sense.
As for your last statement - wow, you have thought WAY too much about this! haha
