If her kids aren't in MCPS, there's no pressure to treat them differently.

She is not exactly elected.

When I see a post that refers to Dr. McKnight as Monifa it's a big tipoff that this is by some wacko right-wing racist.

Why? Is it because she is black? I often hear people call our county executive Marc. Is that a right wing thing too? Please explain.

Well, before your post I hadn't seen one calling Elrich Marc but it's clear that these posts are trying to disrespect McKnight.

I actually think it is fine to call an elected official by their first name. I don't see it as a sign of disrespect and have never heard this complaint until now.

Seems more like veiled racism in this case. People never refer to Starr for example by his first name. They only use it to disrespect an AA woman.

It's not veiled racism when it's overt. They are clearly trying to demean Dr. McKnight.

I agree it is overt racism using her unique first name.

If people took 30 seconds to analyze their own behavior they would realize they’re out of line.

Trump. Erlich. DeSantis. Hogan. Biden. Pelosi. People dislike all of these leaders but rarely do people call them by their first name only.

You mean Josh? They actually did. All the time. He said “call me Josh”.

Takoma

Interesting!

I'm guessing most of the county council and half of Obama's cabinet picked Takoma for a reason.

She is staying in PG.
Smith had a condo on Shady Grove. He still had his house inSouthern MD.
Starr lives in Bethesda = Whitman. Kid on crew team.

Council in takoma park or 5 acre single family homes.

I thought Starr had moved to Arlington.[/

Why does he still live in Bethesda?

Right, if she stays in PG, she can more easily justify sending kids to private school. She probably doesn't want her anywhere near MCPS and I don't blame her.

Why should her kids change schools because of her job? And, what if she doesn't stay at MCPS? Most officials don't have their kids in public school. That is pretty telling. Jawando doesn't have his kids in public.
