Me too. My baby could have been a model back then. DC is almost 4 now and that cute baby look is really going away with these growth spurts. Should have had college funded with baby catalog modeling money

Almost all babies are cute. That doesn't mean they're gorgeous.

One of my daughters was the opposite - very, very skinny (like 3rd percentile) and when I look back at pictures, I am shocked by how unhealthy she looked. I didn't see it, I'm sure others did and I wish they'd pushed me to feed her some formula or something. Thankfully she has put on weight over the years (she is 10 now) and is still slim, but in an athletic way.

“Cute” = I have nothing nicer to say about your kid. It isn’t a real compliment.

I definitely think my kids are the absolute most adorable children to exist in the world... until I look at the pictures a couple of years later and realize they just look like ordinary kids.

We should all aim for feeling like our children are special and wonderful, while also understanding that the world doesn't see them in the same way.

If you have the first part, but lack the self-awareness for the 2nd part, you can become an insufferable parent.

This is funny, and timely. I was googly-eyed over my first. He was cute, but not the stunner that I thought he was. I look back at old pictures and remember the feelings of thinking my baby was the most beautiful on Earth. He’s still cute at 12.

I think so too! Toddlers are so cute, and it may not come through on a photo, but their smiles are infectious. I love they are constantly busy exploring everything.

When mine were babies, I got stopped on the street they were so cute. Now they are such awkward teens. Same sweet, kind people underneath it all.

But, yeah, they were adorable.
