My kids LOVE Ellen's Stardust Diner, where the waitstaff are all aspiring Broadway actors and they sing while you eat. It's all sorts of cheesy and touristy but great for kids.

Also check out Little Island: We just drove by but I really wanted to check it out! Would be a fun place to kids that age to run around.

I love the ESB because of it being older: getting up is a process of the smaller and smaller elevators, and then there's the whole Elf vibe with the first elevator....
I've heard the views from One World Observatory is awesome too. You could do that and go to Battery Park, and yes, the ferry ride by the Statue of Liberty was popular with mine at that age.

Sarabeth's is a crowded brunch place. It is not super fancy and serves waffles and pancakes. It is exactly the type of place New Yorkers take their kids for brunch. The Central Park South location has less of a neighborhood family vibe than the UWS locations (those are the only two I have been to regularly), but both are fine for kids.

Serendipity will also be fun for kids but it sounds like the OP is staying right near Sarabeth's so it is probably worth going to at some point.


You could do The Smith which isn’t too far and is kid friendly.


Except there is a The Smith in DC and the food is not nearly as good. Sarabeth's has more of an NYC brunch vibe.
