Best combination so far was England and Iceland. Especially when packing. Wore the same clothes just packed a heavier jacket for Iceland.

Np If you are 'above' us there is no need to chime in! Some of us enjoy being basic.

OK then. Have fun.

We have taken our kids to Vienna every year for a professional event of mine (when it was in person) since they were 1 and 4: then did side trips to Budapest, Prague, Munich, Salzburg and London. We also took them to Rome and Naples (including Pompeii) when they were 7 and 11. Vienna, Rome and London would be my top recommendations in that order.

went to Paris with 18 year olds recently, I honestly would wait until they are are least teenagers. I will never forget the poor mom trying to deal with unruly elementary aged kids in the Louvre. I'm sure it was not a fun experience for anyone.

It's irrelevant what the 5 y/o will think. He/she won't get anything out of it.

The older two will have a slightly greater appreciation. If in Britain, go to castles and some of the more interactive museums. In Italy, go to Roman ruins. Try to combine a few days at a beach somewhere.

Italy may be the best option. Classical Rome, pizza, pasta, then down to Naples for Pompeii and spend a few days along the Amalfi coast for swimming in the Mediterranean.

However you justify it, with kids that young you're really going to Europe for you, not the kids. European trips are wasted on kids until solidly middle school ages.

Paris is great for kids, OP! So many fantastic parks. Very kid friendly. London is also a good choice. Have fun planning!

Hardly basic. I've been to many European countries but have yet to visit these!

PP: Just curious what your family did in Luxembourg and San Marino? I've heard less about them.

Yes. It was expensive. But worth it. Did three days - Ancient Rome, Catholic Rome, Modern Rome. If you do coliseum, 7 hills tour, make sure to book the virtual tour…the buildings raise before your eyes.

Seriously. Not everyone has the luxury to think certain European destinations are super boring. My relatives went with us to London and Rome, and they still talk about that trip. It’s only the second time they’ve ever been abroad and, given their age, they likely will never go abroad again.

I’m not even the poster who made that list. I just think you sound really nasty.
