320k post tax is a lot of $. On the other hand, they’ll likely recoup this (if economy holds up) in 3 years. Saving $ for grad school is moot; if going into industry, there is little need for grad school in CS.
I told my kids we’d make it work for HYPMS, Caltech and T4 CS. T10 CS needed a longer period of introspection and discussion. Other than this, UVA or UMD depending on which is instate.
Also may be useful to have a discussion now on how you’d expect future internship $ to be applied, or not, to cost of attendance. It can be a substantial $20-30k a year.
