As an 11 year old you kids gotta shower more, i shower daily. Just make sure your kids don’t use water that is too hot, dry skin when ur like 11 is not fun

By 10 or 11, everyday. I don't remember either kid being particularly smelly, and I never designated showering as a "chore." It's a relaxing part of the day for them.

99% of the time daily. On rare occasion, there are no sports on a particular day and a kid skips that evening.

Boys 12 and 13. Shower every morning. Then again after sports or going to the gym, which is basically every day.

Don’t understand not making teen/tweens shower after sports, they do smell and they are sweaty.

My 12 year old only shower 3 times x week in the winter. He hasn't hit puberty so he doesn't stink at all.

My 16 year old showers everyday. But he didn't until puberty hit and got smelly.

Between ages 11-13 showering is a battle!

When they have had sports. They really don't smell, so while I would like them to shower daily, its not awful when they don't.

They shower every day. I wouldn't call it a house rule but it's never been something that's negotiable.

The only exception is on Friday nights one DD gets home from a ballet class pretty late and has a sports practice first thing on Saturday morning so in the winter she'll shower but sometimes skip washing her hair that night if she didn't get sweaty in class since she'll be getting messy the next morning anyway.

^^PP here. I forgot to mention that the haircuts the boys had/have don't require brushing. They pretty much just run their fingers through their hair. It looks messy still but that's pretty typical.

My boys were like that. Until they started to stink, I didn't require them to shower every day. Starting about 6th grade, they had to shower every day. I don't really care about them whining about it - as long as they do it. Like with any chore they don't want to do, I've had to lay out my exact expectations (getting your hair wet is not the same as washing it) and they couldn't do preferred activities until they showered. After a while, they became resigned to showering and the complaining stopped.

And, to warn you, my oldest didn't shower as often as he needed to independently until he was in his senior year of HS. By then, he actually didn't have to shower as often. One of the benefits of him taking Accutane was the drying up of his oil glands. Much less stinky!

Every morning if going to school. Usually once per weekend. By that age, I think daily when going to school is reasonable.

Every day. We said every other was ok until 10. Might skip a weekend day here or there but otherwise, shower is part of the morning routine. (I didn’t mandate morning, DS prefers that unless after a sports practice etc.)

We have figured out showers and brushing teeth. But flossing still doesn’t really happen very regularly, unfortunately.
