I eat fruit with each meal, and vegetables with lunch and dinner (sometimes breakfast, but not always). Today I had blueberries and spinach in my smoothie for breakfast, then a huge salad for lunch with strawberries afterwards, then a mandarin for snack with almonds and walnuts, then stuffed peppers for dinner.

I get a minimum of 5 because very day I drink a green smoothie. I usually go over though because I have a big salad for lunch or dinner and every meal comes with at least two veggies.

My smoothie has:
1/2 head of romaine lettuce
2 celery stalks
1/2 pear or apple
1/2 lemon
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup ice

If I don’t pair with with a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast, I have it as a snack or in place of water with a meal.

It's like, if this is going to be one of the few things I'm eating today, I want protein and I do tend towards animal products. And sugar-- not a huge actual amount, but it makes up too high a percentage of my calories IMO (calories range from 1000-2000, but probably average 1400-1600, and I'm not dieting). I think I'll become a bit malnourished if I don't watch out.

I LOVE roasted veggies and salads and so on... less a fan of most fruit. But some days I get like... one serving of fruits/veg. Yikes. Other days, a bit more. If we don't count beans/nuts/seeds, I'm especially bad off.

Today-- counting corn and beans-- I had... maybe 2 total servings according to the USDA. About the same yesterday. If I end up with a big old salad for dinner, I can hit maybe 3-4. Maybe 5-6 on an amazing day, when I'm out picking fruit or just went to the farmers market or something. It's not great!

OP here - It didn't occur to me that beans/ nuts and seeds would count. I usually have 1-2 servings of those a day, easily. (I add flax seeds to my morning oatmeal and I usually eat nuts while cooking dinner.)

Beans and nuts don’t count as fruits or vegetables.

I eat a big bowl of berries with breakfast. I just love them. So probably 2-3 servings there

Lunch I at least 2 servings of vegetables and a fruit. Usually an apple, but apples seem to be reallly large now. It would probably be considered 2 servings by weight.

Snack: an Rx bar which has at least a couple dates in it. Another 1 serving.

Dinner, probably another 2 servings of vegetables.

So probably 8-9 servings per day.

At least 10 servings. Here was yesterday:

Lunch: 2 whole carrots
3 stalks of celery
3 hard boiled eggs
10 almonds
Handful Blueberries

Dinner: Large salad
Tomato and lentil soup with spinach
Handful Raspberries
Dark chocolate with orange bits

Snack: Prunes, raisins, pretzels

Everything I eat has fruit or veggies in it, but I'm not getting 10 servings a day, not by a long shot. Here's my typical day:

Breakfast: Steel-cut oatmeal with blueberries
Lunch: Egg bake with spinach, peppers and broccoli
Dinner: Soup with veggies (spinach, broccoli, carrots, celery, etc.)

I can't eat any more without blowing through calories, and I'm pretty sure the veggies in each portion of the egg bake and soup aren't full veggie servings.
