Einstein has Visual Arts, Northwood has performing arts, and the community didn't ask for this. We live in one of the catchment area schools that will be relieved of overcrowding once Woodward opens/after Northwood leaves.
I personally am a supporter of the arts, but our community always wanted a traditional HS, not a performing arts magnet!
The community most certainly did ask for a countywide performing arts magnet program (not whole school). If that’s the way they go, it would be open to DCC and everyone else in the county. It’s really important/equitable to make these opportunities available to everyone, not just those who live in the DCC.
And the rest of the school will be a regular high school, with athletic teams etc., so it would be similar to Blair (except performing arts, not science).
Or Einstein which has the visual arts magnet

Literally no one thinks that.
+1, it’s happening but no one thinks it will be delightful. The commute issue (and the fact that Northwood will be expanded) is the reason that Einstein and Wheaton are likely the only DCC schools that will have feeders shifted to Woodward.
More to the point - reason why Woodward won't be fully incorporated into DCC.

Actually the community did ask for it. I thought Einstein had the preforming arts? What is the difference between the two programs?
Woodward is not part of the DCC.
Woodward is planned to relieve overcrowding in the DCC. Whether it's part of the DCC or not is to be seen.
This makes no sense when Woodward is not close to downcountry. I wouldn't want my child commuting the far.
It's really not that far from Wheaton and Einstein.
