It’s really important/equitable to make these opportunities available to everyone, not just those who live in the DCC.
And the rest of the school will be a regular high school, with athletic teams etc., so it would be similar to Blair (except performing arts, not science).

More to the point - reason why Woodward won't be fully incorporated into DCC.
I don’t know if that’s true. If half of Woodward’s students are taken from WJ and half from DCC feeders why wouldn’t it be made a part of the DCC? Why should the kids being shifted to Woodward from the DCC not only have to switch schools but also lose the benefits of the DCC in terms of school choice?

Kids within a few blocks from each other currently go to WJ, BCC and Einstein. It's not that far a distance. It just isn't.

Woodward is planned to relieve overcrowding in the DCC. Whether it's part of the DCC or not is to be seen.
This makes no sense when Woodward is not close to downcountry. I wouldn't want my child commuting the far.

Exactly. Also, kids in Kensington "commute" to WJ and don't protest at all. They practically go right past Einstein on their way there. So...?

This. Plus, Northwood is actually going to be temporarily housed there while it’s expansion is completed. I would not be surprised if Woodward becomes part of the DCC since it will certainly absorb some existing DCC students when it re-opens, in addition to being a temporary placement for a DCC HS prior to re-opening as Woodward.
