There’s no need to go outside if you really hate that type of weather. Start off with 20 minutes of toys and books, then start cleaning while she follows you around. Give her a rag or a little broom if you can. Maybe a late afternoon bath as the end of afternoon is cranky time. Then, when she’s in bed, you will truly have free time.

I can’t believe how inactive some of you are. Get snow pants and a warm coat and wool socks. Fresh air is good for you, and your kids. Stop hiding inside.

Same situation OP. Inside with a 16 month old and no way we’re going out. I’m about to bake something from yummytoddlerrecipes with him.

Turn on an episode of Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube. It's super cute and will get your kids moving/breathing.

Make play dough together and then play with it

Make a volcano with vinegar, baking soda and food coloring

Sponge paint, finger paint etc

Play in the bathtub (if your kid likes baths) my toddler will spend an hour in the tub playing in the water, especially with bubbles

Teach gymnastics, yoga or karate

Sort blocks by color in different containers

Make pizza (there are some easy yeast free dough recipes online. My results so far taste eh but the kids love it)

Play with non toy stuff (cans, pots and pans etc)

Dance party

Bubble bath
Dance party
Blow bubbles
"Sensory box" filled with taste-safe stuff like oats or cornmeal. Give her a spoon and a cup and show her how to scoop.

Color, paint, make a poster board/decorate a cardboard box with stickers, read books (repetition is fine), build a fort, have toddler “help” with chores like handing you clothes to fold, bake, and I would never sleep on just handing the kid a bowl and wooden spoon.

Walks inside the apartment. We climbed the stairs to the top floor (more than once) and walked around in the parking garage. We are in a big building, though, and there are lots of spaces to explore.

This is not a blizzard! Read her a story. Give her a wooden spoon and a pot to play drums. A grown woman who cannot cope with a toddler on a little snowy day is truly pathetic.

Busy Toddler has great ideas.

Full a large container with snow and bring it inside. Lay a tarp or shower curtain underneath. Throw some bowls, measuring cups, plastic figurines in there. My kids loved that when they were 1-2.
