My 12 year old wears a lot of Shein. Things like denim, sweatshirts, hoodies, are all about what you would expect, quality wise. They have lasted through lots of washes with no problems. Pretty much anything in white tends to be thin (it's not just Shein). Look through the reviews and read the comments. See how things look on people. That will give you a really good idea of fit and quality.

Thanks! The clothes there are not garbage cans though-plenty of items are pretty and nice to wear. Not everything has to be from Nordstrom to be considered not garbage.

My college freshman DD used to buy Shein in middle school, but is adamantly opposed to it now due to it being one of the worst examples of fast fashion. She says that so are most of her friends and buying Shein clothes is stigmatized in her peer group. Mind you, my DD and most of her peers are not SJWs but they know enough about fast fashion to want to avoid what they see as one of its worst offenders.

The clothes are perfect for growing kids. Who cares if it’s cheap quality. The sweatshirts and shirts my daughter bought the beginning of winter are lasting just fine. I don’t expect her to be able to fit them next winter nor do I expect her tastes to stay the same so at $9.00 a sweatshirt—-win win.
Now if I wanted the clothes for myself I’d probably go somewhere else.

I don't buy fast fashion either. I wear a lot of Altuzarra, Lafayette 148, Theory, Alice+Olivia, Karen Millan, Isabel Marant, Reformation, Diane von Furstenberg, Moschino, Marchesa, Alexis, Balenciaga, Needle&Thread, Alexander McQueen, Derek Lam, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Marc Jacobs. I purchase most of my clothing at Nordstrom, or on Vestiaire Collective, eBay, TheRealReal, or FarFetch.

How old are your coworkers? I can see 20s, maybe early 30s wearing Shein but I'm 41 and looking on the website, a lot of the styles just seem very young and teenager-y and would only look good on people who are like 5'7" and 120 lbs. I'm not sure they'd look appropriate on my mom bod, haha, or very professional in the workplace.

I have bought several items from them. Some I really liked and it wasn't as cheap quality as some would have you believe here. Honestly, I've gotten worse at department stores. Other pieces weren't as nice. Of course, I wasn't expecting anything super expensive looking and adjusted my expectations. I would absolutely buy summer shorts and shirts there again. It's actually better quality than places like Old Navy.
I have always found that price = quality with clothes. Things I buy from Nordstrom/Bloomingdales last me years, not a few wears/washes.
