Anybody else remember string cheese Sallies? Basically rag dolls made out of separated strings of string cheese? Ours had raisin eyes. Always fun.

People! These are snacks for the CAR. On a road trip. Can not believe some of these gross and impractical suggestions. OP, Just get a bag a pretzels and some individual fruit (apple, banana, clementine) that doesn’t create much mess, and a bag of blow pops (keeps kids occupied and quiet with a single one, to be used for emergency quiet time) and be done with it. You are way overthinking what your nutritional needs are, while in the car, between meals.

Don’t forget classic hot dog “hats”! Slice it length-wise and twist into a hat design. My father used to stick a pickle top to prop it up!

My siblings and I used to torture each other on long car rides by trying to get the stinkiest breath possible and then breathing all over each other. We absolutely would have eaten this. LOL

I put on 10 pounds by just reading OP's list. Stopping for good food is part of my vacation usually. I don't mind feeling hungry several hours knowing that I'm going to sit down enjoy food someone else created and cooked.
If you must, beef jerky and fruit.

We used to have crumbled saltines with coddled egg mixed into them. My mom poured individual portions into those tiny cups you get from the dentist’s office. We called them eggy crackers.

We usually take a cooler.

Cheese, canned tuna or fish on crackers (for a meal stop),.fruit, individual servings of olives, hummus, nut butters. Stores used to have individual serving packets of the nut butters.

Trader Joe’s Thai Chili Lime cashews.

Funyuns, beef jerky, cheese wiz and crackers.
