Is this supposed to be some statement about failure of modern work/life balance? Work taking everything over?

The people in the show have a sort of weird naivete. The brother was so excited about the positioning of his book. Mark the person doesn't seem to have many real interactions with people in his home life.

A severance is what you often receive when you leave your workplace. Here it's what you get when you start your job.

I'm a little annoyed with the show. I enjoyed the "mystery" involved in The Good Place, but I don't like these sad mysteries that much anymore. sad sad sad. Maybe it will get exciting?

Same. I read the news online for the first several. I have some theories but don’t really care enough to wait around for more direction. Time for Yellowstone..

I may give it another whirl. I found it too weird, and I like weird shows.

I have started this but not sure I'm into it. Is this going to be like Lost, where there is some mysterious mystery that's creepy but by the end it doesn't make all that much sense?

I like Ben Stiller though so I want it to be good. But I am kind of done with shows that have an underlying current of dread underneath them. Too much of that in my every day now (covid, climate change, Russia, Trump, etc.).

Before that episode I was wondering what Harmony's motivation was. Why would someone want to be involved in their work life outside of work? Why is she so involved in the Mark's outie life?
But it makes sense if this company is also a cult.

That’s what I am thinking so far.

And their Innie jobs are just part of the brain surgery experiment as a monitoring tool, as is that dumb numbers game in their computers. They must all die and the data is used to adjust the brain medicine implant thingy.

If an outie was to get pregnant (starting a family on the outside) - that would be a very strange situation for the innie.
