Even if the kid did assault another student, the teacher has no right to slap and push the student. Seems like student is a prick, but he will get his payday from the school system for this since it is captured on video.

um...no? Because a teacher slapped him we are assuming the kid is in the wrong? I am saying, my personal opinion, is that there is NEVER a time I will support an adult in a position of authority physically assaulting a child. I can see the child saying something back to the teacher, and the teacher responded by losing control. Again, not an acceptable response. I also see the other teacher coming out of a classroom to intercede, and it appears she asks him to walk away, and he also verbally responds to her negatively.
Also, none of what I wrote above makes any difference. An adult assaulted a child causing physical harm. I don't need to know any backstory.
I suppose you never support "children" being charged like adults when they commit heinous crimes either.

Your claim was that it is always wrong for an adult to assault a child because they are a child. Not because it was a teacher deciding their own punishment.

Thank goodness the local prosecutor isn’t a monster like those defending this teacher - he’s now facing felony battery charges and I hope he’s convicted and spends time in jail.

Even in states where (sickeningly) corporal punishment is legal, it is supposed to be meted out in a measured way, not an assault by an angry out of control adult. I read on Reddit that the kid is constant trouble and a little s**thead. Still agree with every word of the above.

Hitting the head is not a legal form of corporal punishment in schools anywhere in the USA. I challenge you to present the evidence to prove my assertion wrong.

No, it's definitely parental failure. Almost anyone who works in a school will tell you this.
And how do those on the school know? Are they in these kids’ homes? As the parent of a special needs kid, I’ve seen teachers make plenty of incorrect assumptions.
