Yes, where have you been?
Lots of nice weather lately. Why should the kids be trapped inside an institutional facility without fresh air all day?
Institutional Facility? Get a grip.
Schools aren’t government institutions? That word has broader meaning that what you may be thinking.
Anyway, time outside with fresh air is good for everyone. Being cooped up inside these school buildings day in and day out has an impact on kids.
So it wasn't a good idea to go back?
Huh? Where did I say that? The kids should be in school and schools should be giving students plenty of time for movement and fresh air. We know those things have a positive impact on them.

Exactly! There is not staffing for kids to eat outside. And yes, middle schoolers are going to do stupid things like litter and start fight clubs. That is totally normal development. Inside they can monitor it. Outside they can’t. Stop being a pain in the ass to staff. Your kid can eat inside like the vast majority of the school did even when there was a choice, and they will be fine.
Clearly the kids need more time outside to run around and get energy out. Restricting them back indoors isn't the answer and merely further reduces their time to move around. Recess duty has been a PIA for teachers since teachers first started having to monitor the playground on recess duty. Too bad. This isn't about the teachers. It's about the kids. If they can monitor them inside, they can monitor them outside. Maybe instead of scolding the culprits and sending EVERYone inside, they could try leading the kids in more appropriate activities to release energy and get physical exercise.
