Luxury alright! We got very very lucky and had family take us to Lone ranch in Montana. It was $4760 per NIGHT for the 4 of us, this did include food, but who the hell wants to eat at the same restaurant morning noon and night for 5 days?? It didnt include alcohol and only included horseback riding.
When all was said and done, just for our family was 30k for 5 nights after taxes, tips, and activities.

Had we been paying i would have felt like a sucker. I don't think there's a single experience on planet earth I'd spend 30k on for 5 days.

For that budget, Mohonk Mountain House is probably the best bet. It’s rustic luxury but has tons to do and it’s beautiful. Think the catkskills resorts in Dirty Dancing or Mrs Maisel with less of a “staying all summer” vibe.
Most dude ranches are going to be more, especially the “luxury” ones, plus many have a 7 or 8 age minimum for riding. We are going to Tanque Verde next month for a week (Arizona, which you definitely don’t want in august!) and it’s like $13k for the week.

you won't get C Lazy U dude ranch for that budget.
We stayed at Drowsy Water years ago (not luxury) and I think it was about 8000$ for the week plus a hefty tip at the end of the week. You can only do week long stays ata many dude ranches.

OP here. I want to feel like the place I’m staying is far more expensive than my home. Spectacular views. Good things to do with kids. Aman looks good so I will have to check with DH. The Dude Ranch is winning right now. The activities look amazing. I also don’t want to think about cooking.

I’m from Florida. I love the state but want nothing to do in summer there. I looked at New England with AC but yes I didn’t see anything luxury. The Wauwinet just looks like my house but with a view.

We love Maine in August. Once we did the keys in August thinking they would be far enough south to be more tropical (vs Florida swampy) but we were so, so wrong. Like 100 degrees with oppressive humidity.
