I'm 38 and it has smelled like skunk and been called weed (in addition to pot) since my teens.

It’s the pot, not your nose.

On a related note, I want to know why the smell of pot always lingers in my car when I catch it from a passing car or the car ahead of me. Even after rolling down the windows it tends to stick for a bit. I never had this problem with tobacco smoke. It's irritating!

I spent four years at a hippie private college in 1998-2002 and I swear I smell far more pot today from passing cars than I ever did from a nearby dorm room.

What I notice now is the vaped thc smell: movie theater popcorn.

No- it didn’t smell like that to me in the mid 1980s… but some people on here say it always has!

Another 80s teen, now 52, and it did not smell like skunk. Burning rope, yes. An unpleasant smell, yes but decidedly not skunk.

SOME strains have always smelled like skunk and others have not and still don't. Some smell citrusy or herbal or minty... I would keep searching for a less skunk smelling strain if I were you. Those frequently on skunk smelling weed don't smell it as well as others.

Another old person here who swears it always smelled bad and skunk-like. At least back then I smelled it only at parties and some concerts. Now that stink is everywhere.
