I like the style of the dress a lot. It would work in my field. I tend to dress up more than the average person though. I wear dresses or skirts 100% if the time though.

Anonymous wrote:I haven't worn a dress in about 10 years, but I want to start occasionally when we go back to work in person. For some reason, I'm very self-conscious about it. People wear a variety of things at my office, from suits to casual.

I bought this dress to start. What shoes should I wear? Would boots work?
Black seems too close to blue. Brown and blue look odd together. Can I do red?
Also, my H says this dress seems more formal than for work, but he's even more fashion challenged than I am...is he correct?

That dress is gorgeous! Women at my office used to wear dresses like that pre-pandemic all the time. The suede pumps the model is wearing work well with it. Nude leather pumps or slingbacks would also work well. They don't need to be high. I have these Naturalizer slingbacks in taupe and they're relatively comfortable (though they run small). I think books or booties would work with this too.

The descriptions for many of the clothes say they are washable.

I really like this dress!

I’m not getting the love for these dresses. Overpriced polyester.

Nice enough dresses, but definitely not gorgeous.

I personally would not wear boots, but if you do they should be brown.

What is your work environment?

DO NOT WEAR FLATS.

PLEASE wear flats. Heels are nonsensical for any woman not on a fashion runway.

Heels are so bad for you.

DP, but I sometimes wear a low wedge or block heel as an alternative to both heels and flats. Some flats are *too* flat for me, and even a half inch or one inch heel gives me more support. That varies a lot by brand, though.

I like both dresses posted but can someone explain to me why they are so expensive and made of polyester?

The dress is lovely but would be way too formal for my fed agency law office.

I would guess it would be a better fit in the private sector?

A grey shoe would also work.

I would copy what the model is wearing, I love her shoes! Nude would work as well, though. Gorgeous dress.

Gosh dresses are my default. I hope you make the switch and love it OP! I wear a wine colored shoe with navy.

I love these dresses, and I love your subject, OP. I haven't worn a dress in years. Have fun! Hopefully you'll report back...

What about this one? Subtle difference, but more flattering.
