Long Branch - Pretty similar to Ashlawn, but slightly poorer and slightly less white.

Not sure why Taylor is in the mix location or demographics-wise. If you like Ashlawn and Long Branch, look at Glebe.

I'd say Long Brand is more polarized than the others in this set. You have kids from $2M+ homes in Lyon Park and kids from apartments. It's a very diverse school.

Really? Taylor just got a new principal this year.

Taylor has a new principal that was at Claremont. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was moving on as I don’t think she had a good relationship with the teachers.

So the NEW Taylor principal doesn’t have a good relationship with the teachers? Like she would leave after 2 years??? What happened.

I’m hearing based on the issues there this year, many are applying for transfer.

There are no neighborhood transfers to Swanson available for next year. If that changes, then you can apply when it's your child's year to transition to middle school. It's historically not been an option because Swanson has been at capacity. The majority of Ashlawn goes to Kenmore so I haven't heard of families requesting to switch (current Ashlawn family).

Another plug for Ashlawn. My two kids go there, and they have had a wonderful experience.

We border the Ashlawn zone so we know a lot of Ashlawn families in our neighborhood. High praise for the school from parents and kids.

We’ve been really happy with long branch. A bit more diversity. We like the smaller size. Great neighborhoods.

Can you speak to this, and any idea of her management style. Not sure why a principal with a career dedicated to immersion is at Le Blance Taylor.
