This reminds me of a pink math workbook I saw at walmart once obviously aimed at girls. Pretty simple double digit addition. Here is the kicker: it had a built in calculator. :/

These are toddlers, they need to be taught things at a very basic level. As they get older, the depth that you are talking about will show up - look at shows like Wild Kratts, Magic School Bus, etc for that. You're asking for too much at too early of an age.

Yep exactly- it's for toddlers! I thought the complaint was going to be that the show is annoying and the songs are repetitive. My kids love watching Daniel Tiger. The show is great for social-emotional learning for things like being kind to others, sharing, managing your feelings etc. That's the point of the show, not some nitpicky details.

Oh just wait until your kid starts binging Barbie's dream house. Daniel Tiger will seem amazingly well rounded! Don't worry, Barbie's mom has a Big Job and Dad appears to not work, but it's all pretty ridiculous.

It's tv. TV is not real life. If kids learn any basic morality or cultural touch stones, great. But you are the driving force in how their values unfold, not King Friday.

I think this is why the show is for kids, not adults. My husband likes to comment on my kids cartoons, "that would never happen", "unlikely", and I literally just have to tell him not to watch. It's for your kid, who is a less sophisticated TV viewer than you are.

+1. My five year old randomly wanted to watch it this weekend (after not mentioning it for years) and it was such a nice change of pace from most of the rest of the stuff she watches now.
