I agree, but I’ll tell you as a teacher I watch this year after year. Almost all are the girls sending them to each other. Yesterday I saw a couple of HS boys get nasty texts from girls because they didn’t send any. I only know because the boys would announce it in class, “Jane is mad and keeps texting that I didn’t send a candy gram” then they shrug it off and keep talking with friends.
Tell your daughters to arrange them with friends if they all want to get them. Middle and high school boys don’t care about this and certainly don’t want the attention of an entire class by sending a girl candy.
Yes, of course they are sent to friends! They’re not sent to indicate you “like” someone, if that’s what you thought?
+1 There were boys at DD's MS that sent candygrams to friends who were girls and boys. It was more of a school spirit thing. I think most of the kids who sent them are kids who are like club presidents, play on sports teams, volunteer for environmental club.

My 7th grader brought in lollipops for a few of her friends, and she came home with a few things from pals. No candy grams at her school.

Thanks! She is. She showed a bunch of texts from her friends later thanking her for the candy grams. So at least it was acknowledged.
